More money for your parents?

Congress may approve more direct payments to families this week

More moolah (money) from the government in the form of stimulus checks? You might remember that last Spring many families received about $1,200 per person from the government. In addition, many people who were laid of from their jobs due to the pandemic received and are still receiving unemployment checks. Well, the government must pass another spending bill before Friday evening in order to avoid a shutdown of all of its services. As part of the negotiations to approve a law that would allow the government to continue operating, congress may likely include about $600 in direct payments to eligible individuals. It's not as much as before but every little bit helps!

Question: how has your family held up during the pandemic?
