Pink guns?

16 year old girl in Tennessee car jacks 37 year old woman using a pink hand gun

A 16 year old girl named Taliyah Wallace used the gun in the picture above to rob a 37 year old mother of four in Nashville Tennessee on February 4th. The woman had just gotten gas and was returning to her car when the teen approached her and put the gun in her face. At first the older woman didn't believe that the girl was actually going to rob her, but after Taliyah put the pink gun in the woman's face and threatened to shoot her, the victim relented and gave her the keys. The woman, who does not want to be identified, then called the police after the Taliyah took the car drove it around Nashville for two hours. Unknown to her she was being monitored by a police helicopter and she was arrested without incident when police pulled her over. The gun was recovered in the car and it was loaded. The woman who was robbed wants Taliyah to be charged as an adult due to the severity of the crime. At this point the teen is in maximum security juvenile detention. She is charged with armed robbery. The victim said:

“In all honesty, I feel that it's not justice,” the Hermitage woman said. “I understand that it is a 16-year-old, but they're out here committing adult crimes against people and I don't feel that the sentence is fair.” ( Woman carjacked with a gun to her head at Hermitage Mapco)

This is one more example of the upsurge in teen carjackings occurring around the country. Will charging these teen criminals as adults stop the crimes?

Question: Should Taliyah Wallace be charged as an adult?
