President Trump will be impeached, again!
This time for real. After last week's capitol building insurrection by Trump radical supporters, many whom were conspiracy theorists, the Democrats and some Republicans will vote to impeach Donald Trump for the second time. It is important to remember that not all or even most Trump supporters agreed with those rioters that invaded the capitol. Just like not all Democrats supported the riots over the summer. But it is clear from the texts that Trump himself sent out over twitter, that he did in fact encourage the rioters to break into the capitol building and disrupt the counting of the electoral ballots. One police officer died from injuries he sustained during the attack and one protestor was shot and killed by police inside the building. Three other people had medical emergencies and died from those conditions. The work of the senate and house of representatives was disrupted and there was some vandalism and destruction of property inside the capitol building. Donald Trump did not condemn the insurrection and was seen as encouraging it through his tweets. Therefore the Democrats and some Republicans led by Nancy Pelosi will vote to impeach the president only days before he leaves office. The articles of impeachments include the following text:
“He threatened the integrity of the democratic system, interfered with the peaceful transition of power, and imperiled a coequal branch of Government. He thereby betrayed his trust as President, to manifest injury of the people of the United States,” the House’s charging document reads. (House to impeach Trump for inciting Capitol attack as more Republicans get on board)
These charges are very serious. Probably the process of impeachment cannot be completed before Trump leaves office on January 20 at noon, but Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic leader of the House of Representatives wants to make sure that Trump never again has the opportunity to become president.
Question: Is this the end of Donald Trump?
Trump's been impeached again. What's next?
