A real winter weekend is coming, be careful!
Following the heavy snow last weekend, we now have more snow Thursday and Friday and then a weekend and more of extreme cold. In the Chicago area in which we live, snowfall is often followed by extreme cold, and arctic front. According to the Chicago Tribune:
The National Weather Service in Chicago predicts a low temperature of 2 below Friday night, with the high winds dropping the chill as low as negative 20, in addition to blowing the new snow.
Saturday evening, expect a low of minus 10 in the evening, with wind chills ranging from zero to 25 below . The predicted high temperature during the day is 17.
Sunday will be about as frigid as Saturday, with the mercury slowly creeping higher on Monday, when the predicted low is zero — though wind chills of minus 10 to 15 degrees are still expected. (‘It’s gonna feel pretty bad out there’: Up to 5 inches of snow, then ‘brutal’ temperatures coming to Chicago area)
Be careful if you go out! On the other hand it might be better to stay inside and do your schoolwork!
Question: Have you felt that our winter so far has been warmer than normal? Does it show signs of global warming?
