World-wide deaths from Covid 19 pass one million
The United States is unfortunately at the top on the list of countries with the most deaths in the pandemic. According to the BBC: "The US has recorded more than 205,000 deaths and over 7 million infections. Cases are once again rising; on average the country is reporting around 45,000 new cases each day. US President Donald Trump has repeatedly downplayed the risks of the virus, and critics accuse him of mishandling the pandemic." The five countries with the highest death tollsCould the United States have done better in preventing the spread of the virus? Could President Trump have done more to educate Americans and lower the death rate from the pandemic? Or perhaps President Trump was right to downplay the threat of the virus and to focus on reopening the economy as quickly as possible. Despite the tragic loss of so many lives in the U.S., the economy is relatively strong and although many people have lost their jobs, many other people are still employed.
