Great America to reopen for the winter holidays on November 27!
After a long and sad summer at Great America, with the park closed and guests at home, our local amusement park will finally reopen for the holidays on November 27. However, the rides and indoor shows and things will not be available. Everything will move outside, incorporating state guidelines on reducing the risk of infection. Spokespeople for the park stated: "Due to Illinois safety guidelines, rides won’t be operating at Holiday in the Park Lights,” Caitlin Kepple, Six Flags Great America’s Communications Manager, says. “It’s strictly a holiday lights experience.” Also, you will have to make reservations ahead of time to visit, since only a certain number of guests will be allowed in the park at one time. Even with these limitations, it will still be fun to visit the park. I have been going to Great America for more than 30 years! On the other hand some people may wish to avoid possible exposure to the virus and everyone should always wear face masks and follow social distancing guidelines.
