Too afraid to fly

Man lives in Chicago O'Hara airport for three months!

Aditya Singh lived in the airport for 3 months
A 36 year old man from California named Aditya Singh was arrested over the MLK weekend for trespassing. Singh apparently lived in the O'Hara Chicago airport for three months in the security zone of one of the terminals. He had found a lost ID card from an airline staff member, who had reported the card lost three months ago. Mr. Singh claimed to police, after he was identified as an intruder by airline staff over the weekend, that he was afraid to fly back to California, where he lives, due to the Covid 19 Pandemic. During his three month long stay in the airport he lived on food bought for him by other travelers. Airport staff said he did not present a danger to anyone but the judge in his case said he is a danger to the community:

"The court finds these facts and circumstances quite shocking for the alleged period of time that this occurred," Ortiz said. "Being in a secured part of the airport under a fake ID badge allegedly, based upon the need for airports to be absolutely secure so that people feel safe to travel, I do find those alleged actions do make him a danger to the community."  Perhaps Aditya Singh has some emotional or psychological problem that led him to remain homeless in the airport, or perhaps he was simply afraid to fly, as he claims. Should people with concerns such as Aditya Singh be punished in the court system?

Question: Was Aditya Singh treated fairly by the court?
