A much nicer debate

Kamala Harris versus Mike Pence: a much more pleasant experience

Last night's debate between vice president Michael Pence and vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris was a much more respectful and calm debate than that which occurred between Biden and Trump a week before. In contrast to Trump, Pence is a gentlemanly and considerate speaker who talks in a quieter and more deliberate manner than his 'boss'. Similarly, Kamala Harris is a relative newcomer, but is enthusiastic and charismatic. Despite some interruptions and some exceeding of the time limits placed by the moderator, the two debaters showed much more respect for each other than Biden and Trump did. In addition, the moderator, who did a good job controlling the flow of the discussions, was able to project a more authoritative persona than the moderator of the Trump-Biden debate. Hopefully the next debate between the presidential candidates will resemble last night's contest more than their first engagement.
