Election is not over, a few states are still counting and the outcome will determine who won!
After a very exciting night, with lots of ups and downs for both Democrats and Republicans, the counting goes on. Mail-in ballots and other votes still need to be counted and the process could last for hours or days. It is hard to tell who is really ahead at this point. Donald Trump has already said he won early this morning, while at the same time Joe Biden says he still can win. The contest is now coming down to the states of Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Nevada, North Carolina, Alaska and Georgia are also still counting. In all of these states the differences in the number of votes between candidates is very small. As a result we can't really predict who will win in any of these places yet.
Most polls seemed to show that Joe Biden was way ahead of Donald TRump, and that Biden could end up with clear-cut victory. That was not accurate. Many people, including many Hispanic/Latino and some Black voters, chose to vote for Donald Trump. This is how Trump was able to win in Florida. Remember, the winner needs to have 270 electoral votes. That is the way the election works. When one candidate gets the majority of popular votes in a state, then he will get all of the electoral votes for that state. Only Nebraska and Maine split the state electoral votes. At this point in time on Wednesday morning, the final counts could go to either candidate. See the information below to follow this big, big story and see real-time results:
